Panel recommends public disclosure of fracking chemicals

Oil and natural gas companies should disclose the chemicals used in hydraulic fracturing, a Department of Energy panel said. The panel also proposed improved measurement of emissions, tougher pollution rules, a phaseout of diesel in fracking activities and the creation of a new industry group committed to "best practices." American Petroleum Institute Upstream Director Erik Milito said companies are dedicated to high standards and are already facing tough policies.
