Riding program helps disabled students find balance

Students with a host of physical, developmental and learning disabilities are finding help at Handi-Rider of northern California, which specializes in horse-assisted therapeutic activities. "As they learn to handle the horse, they develop pride in their accomplishments and gain self-assurance. The trust grows, and it's amazing to watch the change from week one to week eight how their whole outlook on life changes," said executive director Suzanne Bernard.
