Texas blood bank says hot weather is affecting blood collection

Carter BloodCare in Texas said the heat is limiting its capacity to collect blood, forcing it to cancel or call an early stop to at least 46 blood drives this summer because the temperature in collection sites had risen to unworkable levels. The blood bank said the weather has made it hard to meet FDA temperature standards for blood-collection sites.
