A 360-foot-long traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall recently made a stop in Geneseo, Ill., allowing nearby high-school students to read the names of 58,263 fallen members of the U.S. armed forces and hear about the war from veterans. The school field trip to see the wall in a local park was organized by East Moline's United Township High School history teachers Heather Monson and Justin Shiltz. "I hope that they take away a deep sense of appreciation for our veterans," Monson said of the students. "This is an opportunity to witness history."
