Is innovation training beneficial?

Training can be valuable for innovators, but one problem is that there are very few standards of instruction, writes Jeffrey Phillips. "Innovation is still mostly a free-for-all, with dozens of different methods, styles and techniques, often hawked by the inventors of the technique," Phillips writes. The people who are most committed to innovative thinking seek to expand their skills on their own time rather than waiting for company-led initiatives, he writes.
