Lowland gorilla dies during procedure at Philadelphia Zoo

The Philadelphia Zoo's 28-year-old male western lowland gorilla died during a procedure while under anesthesia, according to officials. The gorilla, named Jabari, was showing signs such as loss of appetite and mouth or throat pain. He stopped breathing under anesthesia. Preliminary necropsy findings indicate Jabari had severe inflammation under his tongue and in his throat.
