Harvard economics professor Sendhil Mullainathan calls for some of the most effective, lifesaving drugs to be free to the patients who will benefit most from them. "People are not overusing ineffective drugs; they are underusing highly effective ones," he writes, calling for elimination of copays for statins, beta blockers and other essential, effective medications.
