CMS TMVR decision reflects SCAI comments

The CMS decision on Medicare coverage for transcatheter mitral-valve repair allows payment for the treatment of significant symptomatic degenerative mitral regurgitation with outcomes tracked via registry for at least a year. The CMS document closely follows recommendations made by SCAI, including tweaking of language to allow for procedures to be performed by an interventional cardiologist or cardiothoracic surgeon, rather than requiring both to participate.
