New nurses may have a difficult time finding jobs

Some new nurses in California are having trouble landing jobs right after graduation, with Kaiser Permanente hiring half to two-thirds as many new nurses as in previous years. The National Student Nurses Association says about 25% of new nurses do not have a job four months after graduating. However, experts say there are still shortages in rural areas and within certain specialties.
