Lawsuit Challenges Desegregation

The suit claims Lynn, Mass., illegally discriminated against a white woman whose daughter was not allowed to enroll in an elementary school out of concerns that she may upset the racial balance of the school, a report says. Supporters of the town's policies say since the racial balancing plan began, standardized test scores have risen.
