Despite rumors, MySpace plans to stay cool

The acquisition of MySpace by News Corp., parent company of Fox Interactive Media, prompted speculation that the viral, communal, creative qualities of the music-themed social network would be supplanted with corporate rules and regulations, and that participating bands would lose their copyrights to Fox. MySpace CEO Chris DeWolfe insists that is not the case: "Fox does not have rights to that music, to do anything, to exploit the music in any way."
