Shuttle foam debris problem not an easy fix

NASA officials say there does not appear to be a simple solution to the foam debris problem that ultimately doomed the Space Shuttle Columbia and caused great concern during Discovery's journey over the past few weeks. NASA says next month's scheduled launch of Atlantis will likely be delayed while investigators explore possible remedies, including redesign or removal of the PAL ramp, changing the composition of the foam or applying a more adhesive material to portions of the tank.
