Study: More college grads enter teaching right away

A new report found that 12% of students who earned a bachelor's degree in 2001 taught school within a year of graduation, up from 10% in 1993. The study by the U.S. Education Department's National Center for Education Statistics also found graduates in 2001 had lower scores on entrance exams but higher cumulative GPAs than those of peers who entered other professions.
