WPP chief sees Olympics as global debut for modern China

WPP Group CEO Martin Sorrell, whose GroupM is the largest media buyer for China Central Television, sees the Olympics as a kind of global coming out for China and for CCTV, the country's sole broadcaster of the Games. "What we saw Friday night confirmed that perception has become reality," Sorrell said of the Games' opening ceremony. "People all over the world watching television who've been in denial about China's rapid growth now finally see it's for real."
