Alliance unveils guidelines for state-level health IT adoption

The State Alliance for e-Health, a program launched by the National Governors Association, introduced a set of guidelines that could help states adopt health IT in compliance with the HITECH Act's provisions. The interim guidance informs states about their duties and responsibilities in setting up statewide health information exchanges, incentives they could get from Medicare and Medicaid for implementing electronic health records and other related information.
