Demand for AP classes pushes teachers to get extra training

Student demand for Advanced Placement courses is driving educators to seek additional training to teach the intensive courses. A summer institute at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va., drew more than 360 teachers from 15 states, who learned to provide instruction in a variety of AP courses. "I feel like coming here I'll be much more prepared than if I had tried to do it alone," said a new AP biology instructor.
