Ethanol producer pressures EPA to increase ethanol blend rate

Poet CEO Jeff Broin said cellulosic ethanol development will stop if the Environmental Protection Agency fails to increase the amount of ethanol that can be blended with gasoline from 10.2% to 15%. Broin believes that an increase in the ethanol "blend wall" will encourage investments in the reopening of corn-based biofuel facilities and construction of new production plants that generate ethanol from grasses, crop waste and wood chips.
