Hitachi thinks local with creative, media assignments

Hitachi America has joined the ranks of those companies that want their agency partners to be located near their offices. The electronics firm, which recently shifted its branding division from the Bay Area to Tarrytown, N.Y., has moved its creative chores from Interpublic Group's McCann Erickson, San Francisco, to sibling shop Gotham, New York. Hitachi also has shifted media from Initiative's San Francisco office to the shop's Big Apple unit.
