Productivity posts sharp increase in Q2

Non-farm productivity, which measures hourly output per worker, rose 6.4% in the second quarter, according to the Department of Labor. That's the largest gain in six years. Observers note that the sharp boost in worker productivity suggests that the economic downturn may be coming to an end, although the recovery may be slow and hiring kept to a minimum.
