Training shows how outside influences can affect students

Students who are not receiving enough rest or food at home will struggle in school, and teachers should try to seek help for those students, presenters said during a recent training session in a Louisiana district. "The most important thing I wanted to convey to the teachers is that the brain is not finished," said education speaker Karen Williams. "It's still able to build itself, and everything that a child experiences changes that child."
