CDC reports fewer food poisoning outbreaks in 2007

The CDC reported that food poisoning outbreaks in the U.S. fell 8% in 2007 compared with the previous four years. Of the 1,097 outbreaks in 2007, more than 21,000 people fell ill and 18 died. Poultry was listed as the leading source of food poisoning outbreaks in the country, accounting for 17% of all cases that year.
