China's Suning reports 56% surge in profit

Suning, one of the largest home appliance retailers in China, posted a 56.08% increase in profit for the first half of 2010. The retailer launched 134 new stores in China from January to June. By the end of June, the company's total assets were at nearly CNY40 billion, up more than 10% from the end of last year.
