Company is testing out vending machines that scan thumb for payment

Next Generation Vending and Food Service is testing out biometric vending machines that would enable people to purchase items using their thumbprint, which would be linked to their credit cards. So far, about 60 machines are being piloted in the Northeast U.S. The company also is experimenting with a vending machine display screen that would let users see an image of the package and flip it so they can read nutritional information.
