Law will affect taxpayers with foreign accounts and assets

The Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act is a key part of the government's effort to increase tax compliance by taxpayers who have foreign accounts and assets. FACTA will hit such taxpayers hard, increasing the cost of reporting foreign activity. Noncompliance with FACTA will result in increased penalty.
