Survey: Fla. residents prioritize insurance solutions

A majority of registered Florida voters polled by Public Strategies voiced support for long-term solutions to enable the state to handle costly damage from a hurricane, even if these solutions would lead to higher insurance rates. Most of the respondents also considered rate stability to be the most important insurance objective. "I think this shows there is a clear understanding of the gravity of the situation among the people of Florida and it is up to us -- the industry, lawmakers and regulators -- to work together to deliver," said PCI's William Stander.
