API launches multi-platform ad campaign against RFS mandate

The American Petroleum Institute has released a new round of television ads running in California, Ohio, Colorado and Michigan, as well as the Washington, D.C. area, against the Renewable Fuel Standard mandate. The campaign is accompanied by online and print ads, which are still part of the group's "Fuel for Thought" information campaign. At the center of the advertising efforts is API's stance against the biofuel requirement, emphasizing a "blend wall" that refiners will eventually encounter as they are forced to gradually increase ethanol content in gasoline.
