CDC: Many children affected by recent salmonella outbreak

CDC officials reported Friday that the recent salmonella outbreak associated with live baby poultry has now affected 307 patients in 37 states, 60% of whom were children aged 10 or younger. Twenty-five percent of the 193 sickened patients with available data have been admitted to the hospital, the CDC stated.
