Conn. educators, librarians focus on students' reading skills

Many reading programs are being offered this summer to Greenwich, Conn., youth through the public library, school programs and nonprofit groups. To keep students reading and maintain or boost their skills, the library has brought in dogs to serve as an audience as students read aloud and Greenwich Public Schools has provided small-group reading instruction with a literacy coach during its summer school. Also, the Greenwich Alliance for Education has used a Storymobile recreational vehicle to visit classrooms in a public-housing complex.
