DIRECTV adds voice search, enhances iPad app

DIRECTV has deployed Nuance Communications' Dragon TV voice-recognition technology for a search application still in its beta phase but available for download on Apple's App Store and Google Play. The app is designed to accept voice commands to search for program data via Android or iOS smartphones. Also, the company has overhauled its mobile app for Apple's iPad to help viewers discover content both on live TV and through on-demand or DVR services.
