FDA releases initial medtech interoperability standards

The FDA has issued a notice outlining the first set of medical device interoperability standards recognized by the agency for use in its review of premarket approval applications. The voluntary standards are meant to help medtech companies "create devices that work well together and are secure," said Bakul Patel, senior policy adviser at the FDA's device center.
