New portal to allow patients to access data, send secure e-mails

The Kansas Health Information Network is set to unveil a statewide patient portal in September to help patients become more involved in their care. The portal will allow patients to view their EHRs, add data such as exercise and diet habits, and even send e-mails to providers and schedule appointments.
