Student-created app puts history "in your hand"

Students at Ball State University have designed a mobile application for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources that allows visitors to view and hear historical tours of six state parks. "More often than not, when it comes to scholarly history, academic history, very little of it actually reaches the public, and with something like (the app), it puts the history in your hand," said Michael Smith, a graduate history student. Smith worked on the app with other students and Ron Morris, a Ball State history professor who secured grant funding.
