Why are younger students from China studying in the US?

For years, students from China have enroled in colleges and universities in the US, and now, data show that increasingly younger students are going to study in the US. Officials attribute the trend to students' desire to avoid a rigorous college-entrance exam in China, known as the "gaokao," as well as the more rigid education system in China.
