FDA warns against using Expression injectable as a dermal filler

The injectable hyaluronic acid Expression can cause side effects when used as a wrinkle filler, including swelling, erythema, bruising and the development of hard nodules, the FDA said in a safety alert. Expression is approved for use as an intranasal splint after trauma or surgery, but the agency said in a warning letter issued in June to Enhancement Medical LLC that the product had been improperly marketed as a filler.
