Partnership offers career-focused courses for students with disabilities

An Iowa education agency and community college are partnering to provide students with learning disabilities a fifth year of high school during which they will hone living and vocational skills. Under the pilot program, eight students who have completed credits for graduation will enroll in career-focused coursework at the college and receive assistance from a special-education teacher.
