Virent's biogasoline receives EPA certification

The Environmental Protection Agency has certified Virent's high-octane biogasoline for use in cars and trucks in blends of up to 45%, the company said. Virent manufactures its biogasoline, called BioForm Gasoline, in Madison, Wis. Securing the EPA's certification "is another step toward commercializing our technology to produce renewable fuels and chemicals from bio-based feedstocks," said Virent President and CEO Lee Edwards.
