Metro Baltimore governments join forces for energy savings

A collaboration among local governments in the Baltimore area has saved taxpayers $12 million in energy costs over the past year by buying power wholesale from the regional grid, according to government officials. Prior to forming the purchase collaboration, member governments of the Baltimore Metropolitan Council were buying power separately from Baltimore Gas & Electric and paying more for it.
