Diabetes patients who lose weight benefit even if they regain

A study found newly diagnosed Type 2 diabetics who lost weight soon after diagnosis were more likely to reach blood pressure and blood sugar targets in the fourth year after diagnosis, even though most of the patients had regained weight by that time. The researchers said they weren't sure why the benefit was sustained or if it continued past four years.
