For Cleveland Indians, IT plays a key position

The network manager for the Cleveland Indians, Whitney Kuszmaul, recently tripled the franchise's data-center capacity to handle expanding IT operations. The franchise relies on custom-written applications for scouting, drafting and tracking injuries, and players use video technologies to analyze their performance and that of opposing teams. "It's not every day people get to support servers that are doing nothing but statistical analysis on baseball players," Kuszmaul says.
