Commercial real estate faces increasingly grim future

The rising tide of defaults on commercial real estate mortgages suggests hard times ahead for the commercial property sector and the banks holding its loans. "The bottom line: Defaults are exploding," said Richard Parkus, an analyst with Deutsche Bank. "It's terrible. It's going to be worse than in the early '90s."
