Cooking, food can be used in classroom lessons

Sixty California teachers participated in a course called "It's a Matter of Taste," where they learned how food and cooking can connect with their classroom lessons in literature, history, geography and other subjects. One high-school English teacher said that food is a "compelling way into culture and history and science."
