Eaton eyes plug-in hybrid auto battery perfection

Ohio-based Eaton Corp. teamed up with Calif.-based South Coast Air Quality Management District to get a $45.4 million stimulus grant. Now, Eaton is looking to use some of the money to bring its plug-in battery packs to nearly 400 hybrid utility vehicles being made in the next 18 months. The funds would help to perfect the battery technology and get the product on the market.
