Research: More consumers picky with sodium

Research shows that 52% of U.S. consumers are watchful of their sodium intake and that the number of food products with low-, no- or reduced-sodium content increased by almost 115% from 2005 to 2008. These figures suggest that the efforts of consumer advocacy groups and public health organizations to raise consumer awareness on the health benefits of switching to a low-sodium lifestyle are working.
