ZTE deals signal Chinese phone maker's U.S. gains

ZTE has won its first product deal with Verizon Wireless with the Chinese gear maker's AD3700, an $80 3G mobile-broadband modem that delivers voice and data services in the U.S. and abroad. The alliance, which follows an earlier tie-up with Sprint Nextel for a WiMAX modem, illustrates ZTE's advances in the U.S. ZTE also hopes to provide Verizon Wireless with software and gear for its move to LTE-based 4G networks.
