Chicago teachers ask for heat-related school closures

In Chicago, where the heat index reached 103 degrees Thursday, teachers in schools without air conditioning are recommending that classes be canceled. Union officials are recommending that the district use snow days for the heat-related closures. However, district officials oppose the idea.
