NCCR's Whipple to step down at year's end

National Council of Chain Restaurants President Jack Whipple will retire from his post at the end of the year. Whipple took the post five years ago after a 25-year career in public-policy positions at McDonald's. "Jack was a tremendous leader during the years he served NCCR, and this is the capstone to a terrific career," said Matthew Shay, president and CEO of NCCR's parent, the National Retail Federation. "He is a pioneer in the public policy arena. Nobody was doing this in the industry when he started at McDonald's."
