Overweight women have lower risk of glaucoma

Overweight and obese women are less likely to get normal tension glaucoma compared with their thinner peers, a new study found. Harvard researchers discovered that for every additional six pounds of weight a woman carries, her risk for glaucoma drops 6%. Researchers speculate that the correlation may be due to higher estrogen levels in heavier women.
