Pistole outlines vision for TSA

John Pistole, the new director of the Transportation Security Administration, says he is focused on beefing up the agency's counterterrorism efforts while reaching out to employees and travelers. His ideas for the agency include forming a team of Transportation Safety Officers who would function as law enforcement. Over the past few weeks, Pistole has conducted a series of meetings and "town halls" with TSA personnel to discuss a range of issues, including employees' demands for collective bargaining rights, this article reports.
