Should pay be cut for underperformers?

If you're really going to reward top performers with greater compensation, then it makes sense to cut the pay of the "dead wood" workers, Todd Dewett writes. While there are legal considerations, of course, he argues that cutting a paycheck "can be an honest and transparent and fair response to chronic underperformance," he writes.
