Death risk is higher in recreational sports for men than women

The incidence of sudden death due to cardiac arrest between 2005 and 2010 was higher among men who participated in recreational sports than their female counterparts, a French study showed. The likelihood of sports-related sudden death varied based on the sport among men, but not among women. The findings were published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
